Eminent Tax Experts Designated As ‘Senior Advocates’ By The High Court

The Bombay High Court has vide Notification dated 12.02.2014 conferred the prestigious designation of “Senior Advocate” upon seven Advocates, two of whom are from the Tax Bar.

The said two Advocates, Dr. K. Shivaram and Shri. Beni Chatterji, are specialists in Direct Taxes and are well known for their contribution to the growth and development to the law. The other five Advocates who were awarded the prestigious designation are well known for their expertise in the field of civil and commercial law.

The Bombay High Court follows a rigorous procedure for selection of Advocates to be conferred the honour.

It may be recalled that in the recent past, several eminent members of the ITAT Bar Association have been awarded the prestigious designation of ‘Senior Advocate’ such as P. J. Pardiwalla, J. D. Mistri, P. F. Kaka and S. N. Inamdar.

These individuals serve as a beacon of inspiration for the rest of the profession on the heights that can be achieved through hard work, diligence and ethical behaviour.

We wish all the seven newly designated Senior Advocates good luck in their endeavours.
